Mid-Prairie’s Bryce Henry, Keota’s Billie Kindred named to All-State

The Iowa Print Sportswriters Association released its full list of all-state basketball teams on Tuesday.

Two Union area players were selected to list this season. Those two being Mid-Prairie’s Bryce Henry and Keota’s Billie Kindred.

Henry was named to Class 2A’s third team, while Kindred was named to Class 1A’s second team.

It was a stellar season for the Golden Hawk in Henry as he helped the Golden Hawks finish just two games from the state tournament.

He finished with a team best and conference second best 21.3 points per game. Henry also pulled down a team high 5.3 rebounds, while also tallying 1.9 assists and 1.2 steals. He shot 46.3% from the field, 36.7% from three and 86.1% from the foul line.

Meanwhile Kindred gets the second team nod after averaging a South Iowa Cedar East best 24.6 points per game. The senior averaged a double double, pulling down 14.2 rebounds a night as well. He also averaged two assists, 2.1 steals and 1.3 blocks.

Kindred shot 53.2% from the field and 39.4% from three.
