Middle school cross country runs in Burlington

BURLINGTON ? The Fairfield Middle School girls? cross country squad landed five runners in the top 20 of Thursday?s Grayhound Invite in Burlington.

Sammy Fritz led the way with a third-place finish in 12:36, and Ashlyn Elmore was fifth in 13:03. Kylie Kurtz came next, taking 10th place (13:41), while Emily Hanna was 17th (14:11) and Maggie Ferrel 18th (14:15).

Ryan Pate finished 26th (14:54) and Shannon Morrissey was 29th (15:20). Mikaela Lunsford (32nd, 15:33), Maddie Rauscher (35th, 16:01) and Kylee Marlay (39th, 16:23) also finished in the top 40.

FMS eighth-grader Elijah Parr also finished top-20 in the boys? race. Parr completed the course 15th in 12:58 to lead the Trojan boys. Collin Williams (38th, 14:30) earned a top-40 time.

The Trojans will be running at Washington on Tuesday.
