WMS at Columbus
The Washington Middle School softball team went to Columbus on June 9 and won a pair of games 12-0 and 10-1.

WMS at Columbus
The Washington Middle School softball team went to Columbus on June 9 and won a pair of games 12-0 and 10-1.
Allison Rebling struck out six of her eight batters faced in the first game, while Macy Driscoll tossed the final inning of the game, allowing one hit and one walk.
Alexa Mitchell went 3-for-3 in Game 1, while Hannah Anderson and Kaitlyn Mitchell each went 2-for-3 and Allison Hamilton went 2-for-2.
In Game 2, Alexa Mitchell struck out five of the six batters she faced, while Driscoll allowed two hits and two walks.
Anderson and Kaitlyn Mitchell each went 2-for-3 in the second game.
WMS at Fort Madison
The team then went to Fort Madison for a doubleheader, and swept the Bloodhounds 13-7 and 14-6 on June 12.
The team was led by Alexa Mitchell?s four innings pitched in the circle, earning the win, allowing three runs on four hits, striking out five.
Anderson and Kaitlyn Mitchell reached base five times in the game, while Driscoll went 3-for-4 with two doubles in the contest, and Rebling went 2-for-4 with a triple.
In the second game, Rebling tossed four innings and allowed one run on six hits and struck out six to earn the win.
Rebling, Kaitlyn Mitchell and Anderson each had doubles in Game 2, while Rebling, Anderson, Alexa Mitchell and Kiley Garrelts each had singles in the game
WMS at Louisa-Muscatine
The Demons traveled to Louisa-Muscatine on June 16, but couldn?t keep their winning streak going, dropping the pair of games.
In Game 1, Anderson went 2-for-3 and scored the lone run, while Kaitlyn Mitchell and Rebling each went 1-for-3 and Alexa Mitchell and Samantha Farmer went 1-for-2.
In Game 2, the Demons left two runners on base in the third and fourth innings, but ended up falling despite singles from Anderson, Alexa Mitchell and Garrelts, while Kaitlyn Mitchell and Halley Leyden hit doubles.
WMS is now 5-3 overall, and will wrap up its season at home against Fort Madison on Tuesday.
