Miller competes in Florida meet
Peyton Miller has been staying active on the track this summer.

Peyton Miller has been staying active on the track this summer.
The Mid-Prairie sophomore competed in the USATF National Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships which were held at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville from July 27 to Aug. 2.
After qualifying in the 15-16-year-old age division in the Region 8 qualifier, Miller ended up in 37th place in the 800-meter run at the meet, and 42nd in the 400-meter dash out of the 80 total qualifiers.
In regional qualifying (against runners from Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota and Nebraska), Miller finished fourth in the 400-meter dash with a season-best time of 52.36 seconds, and fifth in the 800-meter run with a 2:06.26.
Miller does his offseason running for the Iowa Speed Track and Field Club which is coached by Heather and Joey Woody.
