Miller, Mitchell named to SLIAC All-Decade team

Two of Iowa Wesleyan's most decorated men's golfers became even more so earlier this month. A duo of former Tiger golfers was named to the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's All-Decade list, which was announced in a release from the conference last week.

IW's Kiley Miller (2015-2018) and Blake Mitchell (2011-2014) were both named to the team, which featured the best men's golfers the conference had seen between the years of 2010 and 2019.

Miller, a Mt. Pleasant native, played for three seasons as a Tiger after transferring in from Bethany Lutheran College. Miller was the 2017 SLIAC conference tournament champion, erasing a three-stroke deficit on the final day of play.

One year later, Miller took second in the conference meet, closing out his IW golf career in style. Over his career, Miller was named SLIAC Player of the Year one time.

Miller helped led the Tigers to three Top-3 finishes in three years during his career.

Mitchell Iowa Wesleyan's first conference golf champion in school history. He dominated the SLIAC tournament in his senior year, beating second place by three strokes.

Like Miller, Mitchell won the SLIAC Player of the Year Award one time, the first Tiger golfer to do so.

The 2020 SLIAC All-Decade men's golf team was made up of 16 players. Webster coach Andrew Belsky was also named as a coach.
