Miller’s 16 points, 17 rebounds lead Huskies’ win

Abbie Miller had a monster game for Highland as the girls high school basketball season resumed Friday.
Highland 59, Lone Tree 44
Aly Stokes and Miller nearly outscored the home team in this Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division road win.
Miller had 17 rebounds and 16 points while Stokes had 25 points and nine rebounds. Kylie Wood grabbed nine rebounds, scored six points and doled out three assists.
Highland is 9-2 and plays at Louisa-Muscatine Tuesday.
West Branch 52, Mid-Prairie 46
The home team won the River Valley Conference game with a 17-7 advantage in the first quarter.
Four Golden Hawks provided all the team's scoring with Myah Lugar netting 13 points, Shae becker 12, Caitlyn Riggan 11 and Maddie Nonnenmann 10. Nonnenmann had eight rebounds. Both riggan and Lugar sank three 3-pointers apiece.
Mid-Prairie is 8-4 and plays host to Durant Tuesday.
Keota 47, Colfax-Mingo 36
The Eagles won on the road in the South Iowa Cedar League.
The visitors trailed 14-10 after one quarter but led 24-24 at halftime. Keota had a 9-7 edge in the third quarter and 13-5 in the final stanza.
Keota improved to 4-9 and plays host to HLV Tuesday.
No. 13 Van Buren 46, WACO 20
The ranked Class 2A visitors held the Warriors scoreless in the third quarter of the SEISC South Division game. It was tied at 9-9 after one quarter, but 24-14 at the half.
Kristen Conley and Nadiyah Brown had five rebounds apiece for the Warriors. Grace Conwell had five points.
The Warriors fell to 4-8 and host Sigourney today.
