Mitchell wins IWC?s home golf tournament
The Iowa Wesleyan men's golf team finished fifth overall after shooting a team score of 675 at the IWC Fun City Classic, held Friday and Saturday at Spirit Hollow Golf Course in Burlington. The host Tigers were led by Blake Mitchell, who won the individual title in the two-day tournament.

The Iowa Wesleyan men's golf team finished fifth overall after shooting a team score of 675 at the IWC Fun City Classic, held Friday and Saturday at Spirit Hollow Golf Course in Burlington. The host Tigers were led by Blake Mitchell, who won the individual title in the two-day tournament.
Mitchell was the top of the field as he shot a first round 71 and followed that up with a 76 in the final round. His two-day score of 147 bested Iowa Western Community College's Jose Pelayo, who finished second, by four strokes.
Trent Hoekstra also played well for the Tigers, finishing in a tie for 22nd overall. Hoekstra shot an opening round 88 and improved in round two, shooting an 81 in the final day. Tanner Travis placed 31st with a 175 two-day score (86 - first round, 89 - second round).
Kris Millard rounded out the scoring for the Tigers as he shot a first round 94 and followed it up with a second round 90.
Iowa Western CC won the team title, shooting a 619. Illinois Central CC was second (636), followed by Monmouth College (666) in third and Augustana College (673) in fourth.
