Moorman leads Panthers with first-place finish in Pella
Competing in the Central College Indoor over the weekend, the Mt. Pleasant boys? track and field team brought home top-10 finishes in many different events.
Brandon Moorman led the team with a gold medal in the 55-meter high hurdles. Moorman, a senior, completed the race in a time of 7.53 seconds after clocking a time of 7.85 in prelims.

Competing in the Central College Indoor over the weekend, the Mt. Pleasant boys? track and field team brought home top-10 finishes in many different events.
Brandon Moorman led the team with a gold medal in the 55-meter high hurdles. Moorman, a senior, completed the race in a time of 7.53 seconds after clocking a time of 7.85 in prelims.
The 4x800-meter relay ? run by Nate Smith, Tommy Thorne, Donnie Johnson and Drew Perry ? came in second with a time of 8:55.12.
Another second-place finish came from Emmett Wester in the shot put. Wester threw 47-1/2, and he was followed by teammate Justin Dunn, who threw 43-7 for ninth place.
The 4x400 also finished in ninth, with the team of Porth, Thorne, Smith and Perry combining for a time of 3:48.81. The 4x200 took eighth place, with Johnson, Demetrius Goode, Dalton Conrad and Moorman running a time of 1:39.78.
Distance runner Zach May claimed a pair of 10th-place finishes, with a time of 11:15.94 in the 3,200-meter run and a time of 2:12.42 in the 800.
The team will compete again on Thursday, March 22, at the Washington Relays, starting at 4:30 p.m.
