Morningside?s Schombert on winning relay
SIOUX CITY ? Travis Schombert, a Fairfield High School graduate and Lockridge native, swam on Morningside College?s winning 200-yard freestyle relay team in a swimming quadrangular Jan. 28 in Dubuque.
Schombert, a freshman, teamed up with fellow freshmen Cole Malin, Kieran Sweeney and James Svoboda to swim the winning time of 1:30.71.

SIOUX CITY ? Travis Schombert, a Fairfield High School graduate and Lockridge native, swam on Morningside College?s winning 200-yard freestyle relay team in a swimming quadrangular Jan. 28 in Dubuque.
Schombert, a freshman, teamed up with fellow freshmen Cole Malin, Kieran Sweeney and James Svoboda to swim the winning time of 1:30.71.
In addition to the 200-yard freestyle relay, Morningside College swimmers won nine events while competing against Loras College, College of Saint Mary and Iowa Central Community College on Jan. 28.
Earlier this season, Schombert helped set two Morningside swim team relay records. Along with Malin, Sweeney and Taylor McCloskey, Schombert swam 1:27.81 in the 200-yard freestyle relay and 3:02.59 in the 400-yard freestyle.
Morningside will compete in the Minnesota Challenge Friday-Saturday in Minneapolis, Minn.
