MP boys’ golf team takes Washington triangular

WASHINGTON - It didn't take long for the Mt. Pleasant boys' golf team to pick up its first win of the season. Mt. Pleasant beat two Southeast Conference opponents, Washington and Keokuk in their first meet of the year on Thursday, getting a good start to the 2019 season.
Mt. Pleasant finished the nine-hole tournament at 165. They beat the hosting Demons, who scored 180. Keokuk ended the meet at 213 for third place.
Trace White won the meet, shooting a 36. He made birdie on hole six. Brevin Wilson took fourth overall, scoring a 41.
Jake Moffett and Bailey Shelledy both scored in the meet, shooting a 44 each. Reece Kempker shot a 57, and Brett Baccam finished at 61.
The Panther boys will be at home for their next meet. They will host Keokuk in a varsity dual on Monday, April 8.
