FORT MADISON — The Mt. Pleasant boys soccer team battled against a couple of quality teams at the Fort Madison tournament on Saturday, winning one game and falling in the other.
The Panther boys sneaked past Mediapolis 3-2 to hand the Bulldogs their first loss of the season. Mt. Pleasant fell in its second game, dropping a 4-1 contest against Davenport North.
In the win over Mediapolis, Samuel Schaapen tallied two goals to lead the way. Akbar Wilson scored one goal, and Dylan White had two assists.
Xachary LeBlanc spent all game in net, saving five shots while giving up two goals.
The Panthers' loan goal in the loss to Davenport North was courtesy of Schaapen. He took a pass from Jonah Zimmer and sent it into the net.
The 1-1 weekend moved the Panther boys to 5-2 on the season.
