MP boys’ tennis falls on road

FT. MADISON - The Mt. Pleasant boys' tennis team suffered their second loss of the season on Friday, falling in a Southeast Conference game against Ft. Madison. The Bloodhounds took four singles matches and two doubles matches to defeat the Panthers 6-3.
The Panthers took the bottom two singles matches, both ending in two-set sweeps. Jack Schimmelpfennig defeated Bryce Workman 6-1 and 6-1 in the No. 5 singles match, and Clayton Henriksen took down Levi Sissel 6-1 and 6-2 in the No. 6 match.
Corbin Broeker fell 6-0 and 7-5 against Sam Avery in the No. 1 match. Jaxon Hoyle was defeated 6-0 and 6-4 against Jason Thurman in the No. 2 match. Donny Arledge fell 6-1 and 6-3 against Vasin Thurman in the No. 3 match, and David Nguyen fell to Reed Fehseke 6-4 and 6-1 in the No. 4 match.
The Panthers took just one singles match. Nguyen and Henriksen pulled through in the No. 3 doubles match, defeating Workman and Sissel 6-2 and 6-4.
Broeker and Hoyle fell 6-2 and 6-2 in the No. 2 doubles match, falling to Jason and Vasin. Arledge and Schimmelpfennig dropped the No. 2 match 7-5 and 6-0 against Avery and Fehseke.
The loss dropped Mt. Pleasnt to 7-2 overall this season, losing both matches against Ft. Madison. Friday's defeat snapped a seven-match winning streak.
