MP falls in JV football game

Fairfield came up with another football win over Mt. Pleasant in the JV game at Fairfield last night, 22-6.

The Trojans scored 14 points in the second quarter and added eight in the third on their way to the win. The Panthers? only score came in the fourth quarter on Spencer White?s touchdown pass to Cole Phillips.

White finished six-for-12 for 118 yards passing. Phillips had two catches for 83 yards and Clayle Franklin had four catches for 63 yards.

On the ground, Beau Parkevich ran 32 yards on three carries.

Defensively, the Panthers were led by Tyler Ruby?s 13 tackles and one interception. Alec Skubal brought down 11 and had three sacks. Nyazum Gwanna had 10 tackles.

The team is now 2-4 and hosts Washington on Oct. 8 at 5:30 p.m.
