MP girls defeat Fairfield

FAIRFIELD ? The Mt. Pleasant girls? golf team cruised to a win over Fairfield, 206-235, at the Fairfield Country Club on Tuesday.

Natalie Booton was the medalist with a score of 43 on the par-37 course, seven strokes ahead of her nearest competitor.

That competitor was teammate Lindsay Dorn, who claimed the runner-up medalist title with a score of 50 on the day.

Courtney Mabeus shot a 55 and Danika Christner had a 58.

Fairfield was led by Kristen Terrell, who shot a 55. She was followed by Haley Willimas, 56; Abi Messer, 61; Tori Ogden, 63; and Ashley Henkel, 70.

The Panthers will compete in the Southeast Conference tournament at Washington on Tuesday, May 8.

First, however, they will play in Ottumwa on Thursday in their final regular-season competition.

That tournament begins at noon.
