FAIRFIELD — The second round of the Southeast Conference girls golf regular season took place in Fairfield on Thursday night, and much like three days prior, it was Mt. Pleasant representing the best.
The Panther girls had the top score of all three Union area teams. Mt. Pleasant finished second, shooting a 214, which was just one stroke ahead of second place Fort Madison.
Keokuk won the meet with a 200. The Panthers and Bloodhounds went 214 and 215. Washington finished fourth, with a 223. Fairfield shot 249, for fifth, and Burlington took sixth, at 299.
Mt. Pleasant was led by Izzy Zihlman, who tied for fourth place overall, shooting 49. Ashlynn Beauchamp tied for eighth, at 54.
Sophia Walderbach shot a 55 for the Panthers. Vivian Cornell finished at 56, and Kaylen Hunold shot a 63.
Washington’s Lauren Hinrichsen tied for fourth with Zihlman to notch her second-straight Top-10 finish. She was one of two Demons in the Top-10, as Elizabeth Hora tied for eighth, at 54.
Lucy Sands shot a 59 for the Demons. Presley Hora finished at 61, and Sydney Stouder ended the meet at 63.
Fairfield’s Ella Bentler had a nice outing, shooting a 52 to finish seventh overall. Addison Qualters shot 60. Olivia Hollander finished at 65, and Aries Wagner shot a 72.
The final team standings read the same as Meet 1 of the SEC season, meaning Keokuk has two wins heading into Monday night’s meet in Fort Madison.
