MP girls' golfers earn best finish at Ottumwa Invitational
The Mt. Pleasant girls' golf team finished the 2011 Ottumwa Invitational with its best ever finish in the tournament on Thursday with a fifth-place finish.
Natalie Booton finished in third-place individually with an 18 hole score of 86, behind medalist Payton Minear (76) and Kelsey Shay (85), both of Waukee. Waukee won the Invitational with a team score of 346.

The Mt. Pleasant girls' golf team finished the 2011 Ottumwa Invitational with its best ever finish in the tournament on Thursday with a fifth-place finish.
Natalie Booton finished in third-place individually with an 18 hole score of 86, behind medalist Payton Minear (76) and Kelsey Shay (85), both of Waukee. Waukee won the Invitational with a team score of 346.
"Natalie finishing third medalist out of 66 golfers is a nice accomplishment for her," said coach Jim Kelly.
Lindsay Dorn followed Booton for Mt. Pleasant, finishing with a score of 105, while Courtney Mabeus finished with a 109. Rounding out the scoring for the Panthers were Morgan Barton at 111, Danika Christner with 121 and Mackenzie Notestein with 128.
Mt. Pleasant plays again on Tuesday, May 10, at the Southeast Conference tournament in Keokuk, starting at 9 a.m.
