KEOKUK — The Mt. Pleasant girls soccer team had to battle for its latest Southeast Conference win, but the Panthers managed to stay hot in Keokuk on Monday night.
Looking for their third win in a row, Mt. Pleasant grinded out a 2-1 win against the Chiefs, sweeping the regular season series in the process.
The Panthers and Chiefs were tied 1-1 at halftime, but Mt. Pleasant’s second-half goal proved to be the decider.
Mt. Pleasant’s two goals came from Addison Peck and Mattisyn Wenke. Sonya Simon finished with one assist and one shot on goal.
Eli Heaton got the win in net, going the full 80 minutes and making 13 saves.
Mt. Pleasant is now 7-3-1 on the year and 5-3 in conference play.
