MP girls tennis drops SEC clash
Panthers lose two-day rain-shortened battle with Burlington

BURLINGTON — A Southeast Conference girls tennis battle that began on Thursday in Mt. Pleasant finished up in Burlington on Friday. The Panthers won two matches and lost seven.
Mt. Pleasant’s two wins came in singles competition. Jana Isanta continued her dominance at No. 1 singles, defeating Burlington’s Emily Mosely 8-0, and Audrey Richmond won a thriller 9-7 over Macklyn Palmer in the No. 6 match.
Ellie Situmeang dropped the No. 2 singles match 8-2. Mary Kate Peterson fell in the No. 3 singles match 8-5. Bethany Drury dropped the No. 4 singles match 8-5, and Victoria Smith fell 8-6 in the No. 5 singles match.
In doubles, Isanta and Situmeang took a rare loss, falling 8-6 in the No. 1 match. Peterson and Smith fell 8-0 in the No. 2 doubles, and Drury and Richmond fell 8-2 in No. 3 doubles.
The loss dropped Mt. Pleasant to 4-1 overall and 3-1 in SEC play.
