MP girls’ tennis falls at home

The Mt. Pleasant girls' tennis team had a tough time on Friday against one of the best teams in the Southeast Conference. The Panthers fell 7-2 against Ft. Madison at the East Lake Park.
The Panthers took just one singles match out of the six played. The lone victory went to Sierra Barton, who took down Lily Cadwaller 8-6 in the No. 4 match.
Erin Zihlman lost the No. 1 match 8-3 against Larissa Ferrill. Hallie Sandeen fell 8-0 in the No. 2 match against Lanie Kuntz. Breanna Runyon fell 8-6 in the No. 3 match against Zoe Ramatowski. Olivia Larson fell 8-6 against Alyse Schmidt in the No. 5 match and Madecyn Anderson fell to Lili Scott 8-1 in the No. 6 match.
The Panthers won one of three matches in doubles. The No. 2 team of Barton and Larson defeated Cadwallader and Schmidt 8-2 in the No. 2 match.
Zihlman and Sandeen were swept 8-0 against Ferrill and Kuntz in the No. 1 doubles match. Runyon and Anderson fell 8-6 in the No. 3 match against Ramatowski and Scott.
Mt. Pleasant has a match scheduled today (Tuesday) against Keokuk at home. Weather willing, that meet will begin at 4:30 p.m.
