Wagner, sprint relay teams win pick up event titles

KEOKUK — Fresh off the excitement of the Drake Relays and just over one week before the conference meet, the Mt. Pleasant track and field teams took a trip to Keokuk for Tuesday night’s Keokuk Relays.
The Panther girls had another big night, scoring 156 points to win the meet by 47 over second-place Fort Madison. The Panther boys tied for third, with 83.
The Panther girls had three wins on the day, with one coming individually. Alexis Wagner represented Mt. Pleasant well, winning the 800-meter run.
The Panther girls also took the 4X100-meter relay, as well as the 4X200-meter relay.
Kiyah Sanders took second in both the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash for Mt. Pleasant. Kynlee White was second in the 400-Meter dash. Taylor Williamson took silver in the 100-meter hurdles, and Abigail Shelangoski took second in the 400-meter hurdles.
Also taking second on the track was the Panther 4X400 team, the Panther 4X800 team and the shuttle hurdle team.
The Mt. Pleasant girls had two second-place finishes in the field. Linzy Striegel took second in the long j ump, and Savannah Slobodnik was second in the discus throw.
The Mt. Pleasant boys had three individuals place second. Silas Hulett took second in the 3200. Jaymisen Rich was runner-up in the shot put, and Mason Freuh finished second in the discus.
The Panther boys’ distance medley relay team pulled out a second-place finish, as did the shuttle hurdle relay team.
