MP girls win at Keokuk

KEOKUK - The Mt. Pleasant girls' golf team made a statement on Thursday at the Keokuk Invitational. The Panthers beat three Southeast Conference foes, including defending 3A champion Washington, to win the tournament.

Mt. Pleasant shot 190, which was one stroke better than Washington's 191. Keokuk was third at 249. Burlington shot 254 for fourth, and both Fairfield and West Burlington finished with no score.

Anni Liechty had a great showing, finishing second with a 42. Elli Liechty and Michal Wohlleber each shot a 46 to tief or fourth.

Melody Miller shot a 56 to be the fourth Panther scorer. Alex Gerling shot a 57, and Grace Sheetz finished at 59.

Mt. Pleasant will be back on the road on Monday, April 8. Mt. Pleasant will participate in the Burlington triangular, facing the hosting Grayhounds and Muscatine.
