MP girls win home invite

It was a good day for the Mt. Pleasant girls' golf team on Friday. The Panthers won their own home tournament, squeaking by Ottumwa by four strokes.
The Panthers ended the day with a final sore of 395. Ottumwa scored 399. Iowa City Liberty finished at 419 for third. Muscatine shot 469. Clear Creek-Amana scored 479, and Notre Dame didn't score.
Anni Liechty took second place overall in the tournament, shooting an 88. Elli Liechty was fourth place overall and second on the team witha 95.
Alex Gerling took third place, shooting a 105. Michal Wohlleber and Melody Miller tied for fourth on the team at 107. Grace Sheetz shot a 115.
On the junior varsity squad, Sami Wibben ended the day with a final stroke count of 110. Ryann Davidson finished her round at 115.
The Panther girls were meant to play in a tournament at Burlington on Monday, but that meet was postponed to Thursday. The Panthers will not be able to attend with the new date.
Mt. Pleasant will have a quad in Centerville on Friday, May 3. That will take place at the Appanoose Country Club.
