The Southeast Conference will enter its second half of action in the sports of baseball and softball this evening in Mt. Pleasant. The Mt. Pleasant baseball and softball teams will take on Keokuk less than a week after sweeping the Chiefs in road doubleheaders at their place last Friday.
The Panthers are currently in second place in baseball, tied with Washington at 4-2. Fairfield leads the SEC with a 5-1 record, their only loss coming at Mt. Pleasant in game one of a doubleheader on Monday.
The softball team is in a similar situation. The Panthers are 6-1, one game back of 7-1 Fairfield. The Panthers and Trojans split in softball on Monday as well.
Keokuk is 0-16 combined in both baseball and softball through one round of conference play.
The Panthers will be scoreboard watching a bit tonight. Washington and Ft. Madison will play at Washington in their own doubleheaders. Fairfield is on bye to start off the second wave of games.
