MP seventh, eighth grade football teams take on Edward Stone
The Mt. Pleasant eighth grade football team traveled to Burlington to play Edward Stone on Tuesday. The Panthers won the ?A? game by a score of 38-0 but fell in the ?B? game, 14-0.

The Mt. Pleasant eighth grade football team traveled to Burlington to play Edward Stone on Tuesday. The Panthers won the ?A? game by a score of 38-0 but fell in the ?B? game, 14-0.
The seventh grade football teams hosted Edward Stone on Tuesday and swept the visitors: the maroon team won, 26-0, and the gold team won a 8-6 battle.
In the eighth grade A game, Dshundric Foster finished with 197 yards rushing and three touchdowns to lead Panther offense.
Patrick Canby had 139 rushing yards and two touchdowns, and he scored on the two-point conversion twice.
Brock Wilson was completed his only pass attempt for four yards and also scored twice on the two-point conversion.
The Panthers? leading tackler was Zach Ebeling with eight. Brock Wilson, Dshundric Wilson, Julian Schwartz and Tre Cosgrove had five tackles each.
Levi Parkevich had one interception.
In the B game, Aminn Ellis had 24 yards rushing and Dustin Mitchell added 20 yards.
The leading tacklers were Brandon Nguyen with five, Bandon Hart with four and Christian Brooks with three tackles.
The eighth graders will play again on Tuesday, Sept. 18, when they host Fairfield.
The seventh grade maroon team was led by Jordan Magnani, who rushed for 141 yards and four touchdowns.
Brady Sartorius was three-for-eight in passing for 10 yards. Caleb Potts made two catches for eight yards and Joe Cobberly made a two-yard catch.
In the gold game, Wyatt Carlson caught a 21-yard pass from Payton Kelly for the team?s only touchdown, and Kelly ran the ball in for the two-point conversion.
Kelly led the team in rushing with 69 yards and finished one-for-three in passing.
The seventh grade teams will travel to Fairfield on Tuesday, Sept. 18.
