MP trap hosts Panther Invite

The Mt. Pleasant trap team hosted its annual Panther invite on April 20. There were plenty of area shooters in the top five, including two winners, both in rookie competition.
Two Panthers made the top four in the Ladies Senior Varsity group. Brier Klossing shot a 47 for second place and Katelynn Gardner scored 46 to wind up in fourth.
In the JV Ladies competition, Jenna Smith scored 46 for Mt. Pleasant to place second. Teammate Lysha Bunnell wasn't far behind, shooting a 43.
Mt. Pleasant's Addison McGehearty finished second in the Ladies Intermediate Advanced competition. She ended the meet with a score of 44. Erin Gavin picked up a second-place finish for Mt. Pleasant in the Intermediate Entry Ladies group, scoring a 34.
Area shooters took the top four spots in the Rookie Ladies competition. Mt. Pleasant's Zenlynn Lee won, with a 25. Kynlee Buffington of Winfield-Mt. Union took second with a 23. W-MU's Katie Miller was third, shooting a 16, and Mt. Pleasant's Gigi Olson scored 14 for fourth.
New London's Gavin Thompson, who shoots for the Danville team, shot a 49 to take second in the Varsity Men competition. Mt. Pleasant's Zach Benghaus placed fourth, with a 49.
Bryce DeWolf of the WACO trap team scored 48 to take third on the JV Men's leaderboard. W-MU's Camden Buffington shot 47 to take fourth in the Intermediate Advanced Men's standings.
WACO's Isaac Kleese placed fifth in the Intermediate Entry Men's competition, which was the top area score in that division.
The Rookie Men's group was dominated by Henry County shooters. Cody Milks of W-MU won, with a 35. Mt. Pleasant took the next three spots, with Colton Syfert getting second with 32, Mason Yocum taking third with 31, and Keagan Ellington placing fourth, with a score of 11.
