MP volleyball drops two games in Burlington

BURLINGTON - The Mt. Pleasant volleyball team opened the season with two losses in the Burlington triangular. The Panthers fell in two sets to both Muscatine and the hosting Grayhounds to drop to 0-2 to start the season.
The Panthers held two separate seven-point leads against defending Southeast Conference champion Burlington in their first set, but fell ina tight one, 25-22. Burlington took the second set 25-15 to hand the Panthers threir first loss of the season.
Mt. Pleasant had another strong first set against Muscatine, but once again couldn't pull it out. The Muskies beat the Panthers 25-20 in the first game and 25-16 in the second.
Burlington closed out the triangular 2-0. The Grayhounds beat Muscatine 25-23 and 25-13 in their showdown.
The Panthers will be back in action on Thursday night when they hit the road to play Ottumwa in a nonconference game.
