The Southeast Conference released its all-conference wrestling team last week and 10 Union coverage area wrestlers were named to the squad. Mt. Pleasant led the way with five names, two first-teamers and three second-teamers. Washington had three named, one on the first team and two on the second, and Fairfield received two second-team honorees.
Mt. Pleasant had a pair of seniors make the All-SEC first team. Corbin Broeker (22-4) made the first team at 126 pounds and Jaden Davis (13-6) took the top spot at 170 pounds.
Broeker took the top spot in the 126-pound bracket at the Southeast Iowa Classic in Burlington, which the SEC uses as their conference championship. Davis took second at 160 pounds. Both Broeker and Davis took third place at the district meet, finishing one spot short of the state tournament.
Washington's first-team honoree was Ayden Frazer (33-5), a junior. Frazer picked up the honor in the 160-pound weight class.
Frazer won the conference championship at the Southern Iowa Classic, beating Davis in the 160-pound championship. Like the Panther duo, Frazer took third place at the district meet.
A pair of Panther sophomores, Abby Blint (13-7) and Carson Coleman (31-12), were both named to the All-SEC second team. Blint made the team at 106 pounds and Coleman made the squad at 120 pounds. Joining them was junior Samuel Carrasco (16-16), who got the call at 220 pounds.
Washington senior Brandon Dickel (19-7) and freshman Brayden Hartman (21-16) each made the second team. Dickel represented the Demons at 126 pounds and Hartman is the second team's heavyweight.
Fairfield's honorees were freshman Zach Westercamp and junior Logan Adam. Westercamp made the squad at 113 pounds, and Adam made the squad at 145 pounds.
