MP wrestlers receive awards at banquet
At the Mt. Pleasant Community High School?s end-of-season wrestling banquet, five wrestlers were honored with awards.
Colton Aplara was named the team?s most valuable wrestler on the varsity team, and Rob Pohren earned the same honor for the JV team.
Both Aplara and Jacob Dilks were recognized as the wrestlers with the most wins (tied at 28), and the wrestlers with the most falls (tied at 18).

At the Mt. Pleasant Community High School?s end-of-season wrestling banquet, five wrestlers were honored with awards.
Colton Aplara was named the team?s most valuable wrestler on the varsity team, and Rob Pohren earned the same honor for the JV team.
Both Aplara and Jacob Dilks were recognized as the wrestlers with the most wins (tied at 28), and the wrestlers with the most falls (tied at 18).
Justin Dilks earned an award for being the wrestler with the most takedowns (77).
Finally, Josh Larson received the Panther Award.
However, these five athletes were not the only wrestlers who received honors for their success in the season.
Along with Aplara, Jayton Phillips earned a trip to the state tournament.
The Southeast Conference named Zach May, Phillips and Aplara first team all-conference, while Tyler Lanphier, Jacob Dilks and Justin Dilks earned second team honors.
Alec Mathews, May, Drew Perry and Emmett Wester were each named to the SEC?s all-academic wrestling team, while May and Wester were honored as Mt. Pleasant scholar athletes.
