On the heels of two dominant wins Saturday, the Maharishi School girls? tennis team has began to showcase its talent and can now tout a 4-1 record on the season.
In a home double dual, the Pioneers racked up wins in 18 matches compared to zero losses ? 9-0 victories against Albia and Holy Trinity.
The six varsity players ? Angela Sickler, Minna Mohammadi, Mollie Cutler, Nofia Denbaum, Leya Alderfer and Rose Hoffman ? all blazed through the competition. MSAE also took six double wins on the day with two apiece from the teams of Sickler and Mohammadi, Cutler and Denbaum and Hoffman and Alderfer.
Only one match needed a tiebreaker ? a doubles match that Cutler and Denbaum won 7-5 over Holy Trinity?s Colby Hoyer and Emily Lewis.
The Pioneers will stay at home for their next match against a familiar Burlington team beginning at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday.
