MSAE shoots under Van Buren, Holy Trinity

KEOSAUQUA ? Maharishi School stepped onto the course for the first time this spring and picked up two conference wins in a closely-contested triangular at Riverview Country Club in Keosauqua Monday.
Freshman Mickey DeAngelis, playing in his first meet, tied as the runner-up medalist with a 45 to lead the Pioneers to wins against host Van Buren and Holy Trinity. MSAE combined for a team score of 195 to best Holy Trinity?s 201 and Van Buren?s 204.
Van Buren?s Austin Countryman and Holy Trinity?s Sam Harmeyer also carded a 45 while the Crusaders? Brent Holtkamp was the medalist with a 42.
Paul DeAngelis fired a 48, Prasad Monk turned in a 49 and Raph Burne came up with a 53 to complete the Pioneers? team score. Michael Corraza (60), Toby James (68) and Brendan Park (68) were alternate scores playing their first-ever match for MSAE.
Behind Countryman, Van Buren was led by a 51 from Jordan Hagans, a 52 from Caleb Millard and Kyle Johnson and Ryan Nelson each carding a 60.
MSAE will be among a tough field at the Albia Invite this afternoon.
