Mt. Pleasant 1st, Washington 2nd at Fort Madison boys triangular

FORT MADISON — It was a two-team race on Thursday as the Mt. Pleasant and Washington boys golf teams took part in Fort Madison’s home triangular. The Panthers won that race, out-dueling the Demons by 10 strokes.
Mt. Pleasant won the meet with a final stroke total of 168. Washington finished the day at 178, and Fort Madison ended at 212.
Mt. Pleasant’s Nick Matheny was the only golfer under 40. Matheny shot a 39 to lead the Panthers to victory.
Brevin Wilson shot a 42 for the second-best Mt. Pleasant score. Reece Kempker finished at 43. Reece Coffman and Ian Hake each shot 44, and Nate Dismang finished at 54.
Washington’s Roman Roth took home runner-up honors. He shot a 41 to lead the Demons to a second-place finish.
Teague Mayer was the second-best Washington player, at 44. Issac Vetter finished at 46. John Prochaska ended the day at 47. Luke Beenblossom shot 48, and Grant Sobaski ended at 51.
