MT. PLEASANT — It was razor sharp for the top few spots in the Southeast Conference girls golf league’s latest clash on Monday evening.
Keokuk edged Lee County rival Fort Madison for the top spot at Mt. Pleasant Golf and Country Club. The Chiefs shot a 205, three shots ahead of Fort Madison’s 208.
Coming in third was Mt. Pleasant, which shot a 216 on the day to finish just behind the Chiefs and Bloodhounds.
The Panthers were led by Ashlynn Beauchamp’s 52. Izzy Zihlman shot a 53. Sophia Walderbach ended at 54. Kaylen Hunold shot 57. Vivian Cornell ended at 70, and Olivia McCormick shot an 83.
Washington finished at 241, just one stroke ahead of Fairfield (242) for fourth place.
The Demons were led by Elizabeth Hora, who shot a 50 for fourth place overall. Lauren Hinrichsen ended at 57. Presley Hora shot a 65. Lucy Sands finished at 69, and Sydney Stouder ended at 75.
Fairfield’s Ella Bentler led the Trojans with a 53 on the day. Olivia Hollander finished at 61. Vanessa Kessel shot a 63. Aries Wagner shot a 65, and Addison Qualters finished at 69.
