Neither team scored in the opening inning, but Keokuk opened up the scoring with one run in the bottom of the second frame.
That proved to be the Chiefs sole run of the SEC matchup.

Mt. Pleasant went on to score three runs in the bottom frame to tie it at 3-3.
An inning later, the Panthers made it 4-3.
It wasn’t that easy though as Alburnett took the lead once again in the top of the seventh making it a 5-4 ballgame.
With their backs against the wall, Mt. Pleasant delivered with the tying run in the bottom of the inning.
In extras, the Panthers held the Pirates without a run in the top half of the eighth and then a run ended it in the bottom of the frame.

J.C. Sitar had one hit and two RBIs.
