Mt. Pleasant baseball takes care of Davis County
Panthers score 10 runs in three innings to down Mustangs

BLOOMFIELD — Mt. Pleasant baseball picked up its 20th win on Wednesday night with a lopsided victory over Davis County, 12-1.
The Panthers had no problem with the Mustangs in the pairs none conference bout.
After a scoreless first inning, Mt. Pleasant took the lead in the second with a five run inning.
That was more than enough to get by Davis County, but the Panthers continued to add insurance.
An inning later, Mt. Pleasant added another five to their total and heading into the fourth the Panthers held onto a 10-1 lead.
The Panthers final pair of runs came in the fifth.
Leading Mt. Pleasant in the box was Payton Hagans. Hagans went 3-for-4 with an RBI.
Payson Coleman finished with two hits. J.C. Sitar and Payton Walker both had a hit and two RBIs. Carson Andreasen and Cooper Coleman each had one hit and one RBI. Zach Newton finished with one hit and Brayton Hutson had one RBI.
On the hill, Payton Walker threw all five innings, giving up just five hits, one run (one earned) with 10 strikeout.
Mt. Pleasant improves to 20-7 with the win. The Panthers will take on Davenport Central on Monday before battling Clarke on Tuesday.
