Mt. Pleasant bowling sweeps Washington
Panthers, Demons do battle in MP

MT. PLEASANT — Iris Bowling Center was hopping on Thursday as both the Mt. Pleasant and Washington bowling teams were in Southeast Conference action. The Panthers and Demons joined West Central Illinois for a triangular.
In the SEC dual, Mt. Pleasant upended Washington in both boys and girls action. The Panther boys won 2,380-1,868, and the girls won 2,376-531.
The Panthers were led by Jonathan Fortin, who rolled a 406 on the day, including a 236 high game, the highest of either team.
Alec Payne bowled a 345 for the Panthers. Henry Pforts rolled a 314. Xachary LaBlanc rolled 286. Joseph Rheinschmidt finished at 270, and Christian Bracht-Wagner rolled a 260.
Caleb Zieglowsky had the top total on the day, finishing at 413. Quintyn Garibay rolled a 221 for the Demons. Kelver Lopez finished at 220. Gabriel Castillo rolled a 189, and Cooper Zahs finished at 176.
On the girls’ side, Mt. Pleasant had the Top-6 bowlers. Kylie Alldredge had the top score, finishing out at 343.
Airianna Taylor finished at 320. Tori Hixson bowled 315. Addison McGehearty ended at 312. Bethany Drury rolled a 305. Abby Anderson finished at 267.
Washington had just two girls bowling. Emma Loeffler rolled a 181, and Brittany Diveney finished at 164.
Mt. Pleasant and Washington both bowled at the Rose Bowl in Muscatine on Saturday. The Mt. Pleasant girls had the best finish at that tournament, taking ninth out of 16 teams with a final score of 2,519. Hixson was the top area player, rolling 407 for 10th place.
