Mt. Pleasant bowling sweeps Washington
Panther boys and girls pick up SEC wins; Demons’ Zieglowsky bowls game-high

MT. PLEASANT — The Mt. Pleasant bowling teams took two from Southeast Conference rival Washington on Thursday, as both teams met up at Iris Bowling Center to go mono e mono on the lanes.
The Panther boys topped the Demons 2,476-2,217. The Mt. Pleasant girls beat a short-handed Washington team 2,150-1,000.
Freshman Conner Sizemore paced the Mt. Pleasant boys. He finished the night with a 391, finishing second overall among indidivual boys. Sizemore’s high game was 246.
Alec Payne bowled a 368. Joseph Rheinschmidt ended with a 340. Kegan Ellington rolled a 314. Henry Pforts bowled a 309, and Mason Frueh bowled a 276.
Washington’s Caleb Zieglowsky had the high score of the day, bowling a 452. His high game was a red-hot 267.
Kellton Burke rolled a 371. Mason Catenaccio bowled a 282. Cooper Zahs finished at 227. Trevin Sulentich bowled a 213, and Bryce Fogle ended at 196.
The Mt. Pleasant girls bowled a team score of 2,150. Washington ended at an even 1,000.
Bethany Drury led the way for the Panther girls. She bowled a 343, rolling a game-high 196.
Shynann Smith bowled a 277. Addison McGehearty rolled a 274. Madelyn Millard finished at 268. Natalie Brush ended at 248, and Kya Goodrich bowled 246.
Washington’s Emma Chenoweth finished at 281 to lead Washington. Emma Loeffler rolled a 223, and Brittany Diveney ended at 205.
The two schools both traveled to the Louisa-Muscatine tournament on Saturday. Mt. Pleasant bowled a 2,877 on the boys’ side, led by Rheinschmidt’s 215, and a 2,367 on the girls’ side, led by Drury’s 395.
Washington boys scores aren’t yet available for the L&M tournament. The girls bowled a 983.
