Mt. Pleasant boys continue to break records at Brookhart Relays

In a season that has been full of breaking records, the Mt. Pleasant boys' track team broke four more Monday evening at the Brookhart Relays, on its way to winning the meet by nearly 100 points, 214-118, over Fairfield.

Records fell in the 100 meter dash, 400 meter, 800 meter and 3,200 meter runs, all season best times also for the individuals running the events.

Darian Cotton made the biggest jump in the record books, moving into fourth-place all-time with his 100 meter winning time of 10.88 seconds, while Zach May moved into seventh all-time in the 3,200 meter, finishing the event in second-place in 10:15.67. Tylor Hoyle's second-place finish in 2:00.92 in the 800 meter pushed him into eighth on the all-time list for Mt. Pleasant, as Scott Hahn rounded out the record breaking on Monday with his ninth all-time best time in the 400 meter, winning the event in 50.59.

Mt. Pleasant also won four of the six relay events, while going one-two in the field events with Leonard Wester, S. Hahn and Cotton.

The Panthers compete again on Thursday evening at the Southeast Conference meet in Keokuk, starting at 5 p.m.
