Mt. Pleasant boys shut out in Fort Madison

MT. PLEASANT — It was a rough night at East Lake Park for the Mt. Pleasant boys soccer team on Monday. The Panthers were shut out by Fort Madison for the second time this season, losing 8-0.
The Panthers previously lost to the Bloodhounds in Fort Madison’s home tournament, where the Bloodhounds shut them out 10-0.
On Monday, Fort Madison scored five goals in the first half to take a commanding lead. The Panthers held the Bloodhounds to just three goals in the second half, but couldn’t net one of their own.
The Panther boys are now 1-5 overall and 1-3 in Southeast Conference play. will be back in action on Thursday when they travel north to play at Washington (4-1, 3-1).
