FORT MADISON — It hasn’t been fun to play Fort Madison on the boys soccer field in 2021. The Mt. Pleasant boys know that all to well.
The Panthers lost to Fort Madison 10-0 on Thursday evening, their second 10-0 defeat at the hands of the Bloodhounds this season.
Fort Madison led 6-0 at halftime. They tacked on four more in the second half to end the game early via the 10-goal mercy rule.
Fort Madison’s Mitchell Pothitakis burned the Panthers all night. The Southeast Conference’s leading scorer netted four goals to lead the Bloodhounds.
Logan Lee saved 13 shots on the night for Mt. Pleasant.
The Panther boys have been held scoreless in each of their last three games. Mt. Pleasant is 2-10 overall and 2-7 in SEC play.
Mt. Pleasant will return home this evening when they host Washington in the final SEC game of the season.
