Mt. Pleasant boys tennis stays perfect
Panthers top Fairfield for second time this season

MT. PLEASANT — Mt. Pleasant boys tennis continues to stay red-hot.
For the second time this season the Panthers were winners over Fairfield, 7-2.
Not only does Mt. Pleasant stay at a perfect 9-0, but they complete the season sweep of the Trojans.
Mt. Pleasant gave up just one singles match against the Trojans last Thursday.
The Panther’s Owen Vansickel was victorious over the Trojans Garrett Flanagan 10-4 in the No. 1 match.
Fairfield’s lone singles win came from Jace Hannes, who defeated the Panther’s Jake Ensminger 10-6.
Elliot Cook picked up another victory for the Panthers in the No. 3 bout 10-1 over the Trojan’s Dil Hurlin.
Phoenix Watson, Tim Cam and Gavin Ross were all winners for the Panthers as well.
Watson defeated the Trojan’s Ethan Cass 10-3 in the No. 4 match.
In the No. 5 match, Cam bested Rylan Anderson 10-4 and in the No. 6 match, Ross downed Fairfield’s Niko Emerson 10-2.
In doubles, the Trojans picked up their second win.
Flanagan and Hannes edged Vansickel and Ensminger in a battle 10-8.
Mt. Pleasant’s Cook and Watson were big winners over Hurlin and Emerson 10-1.
Cam and Lou Schimmelpfennig grabbed the final victory for Mt. Pleasant after a hard fought match against the duo of Cass and Anderson, 11-10 (7-3).
While Mt. Pleasant stays unbeaten, the Trojans drop to .500 on the season at 5-5.
