Mt. Pleasant boys, Washington’s Roth shut out from state in golf
Brevin Wilson comes one-shot short in district meet

BURLINGTON — Mt. Pleasant’s Brevin Wilson finished one-shot short of state at the Panthers’ district golf meet at Notre Dame on Thursday. As a team, Mt. Pleasant finished third, with a final shot total of 360.
Wilson shot a 41 on the front nine and a 41 on the back nine to wind up at 82. The cutoff for state was an 81.
Nick Matheny flirted with a state berth as well. The Mt. Pleasant sophomore and Southeast Conference champion shot a 42 on the front nine and a 41 on the back to shoot 83. Reece Kempker was two shots behind him, at 85 (44, 41).
Ian Hake shot a 110 for Mt. Pleasant’s third score. Nate Dismang shot 115, and Reece Coffman finished at 119.
Washington’s Roman Roth was the only other Union area player in attendance. He shot a 42 on the front nine and a 44 on the back to end the tournament at 86.
