Mt. Pleasant celebrates Meet the Players night
Panthers introduce fall sports athletes
MT. PLEASANT — The 2021 fall sports season kicked off in Mt. Pleasant with the school’s annual “Meet the Players” night on Thursday.
The 2021 Meet the Players celebration was a little different from previous years. In the past, the introduction of fall sports athletes took place before Mt. Pleasant’s Week 0 home football scrimmage. This year it was held last Thursday because the Panther football team played on the road Friday night.
Thursday’s Meet the Players festivities welcomed the football, volleyball and boys and girls’ cross-country teams as well as the cheerleaders.
In place of the normal football scrimmage, there was a intrasquad scrimmage for the volleyball team.
Mt. Pleasant’s volleyball and football seasons begin this week. Cross-country will not have its first meet until early September.
