Mt. Pleasant Chamber announces “Light Up the Lake”

The Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce has announced yet another fun filled event for Mt. Pleasant and surround areas.

The family fun event called, “Light Up the Lake” will take place at East Lake Park on April 23.

“East Lake is such a beautiful attraction for our community, and we’ve been wanting to host something for families to enjoy,” Executive Vice President of the Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber Alliance Kristi Perry said. “We hope everyone will come out for all the activities that will be going on that day.”

Activities will begin at 2 p.m. with a Color Run/Walk hosted by CrossFit Teo. Participants will start the event at East Lake Park and head toward CrossFit Teo. As the event goers make their way back to East Lake Park they will be doused with an abundance of colors.

The event cost $30 per couple and $20 per person. T-shirts and color bags will be provided. Those who are interested in running can register online at www.teomp.com.

At 5:30 p.m., the Food Truck Festival will begin. There will be between 6-8 different food trucks set up at the softball field parking lot at East Lake. People are encouraged to come out and grab some food for a dinner by the lake.

Around 8 p.m., participants can head over to the Hayward Shelter, where a 21’ inflatable screen will be set up for an outdoor movie. People can bring their blankets and lawn chairs. Popcorn will be provided and the movie will be family friendly.
