Mt. Pleasant, Fairfield to host Meet the Players nights

Football season is officially here, and a couple of the area’s big schools have released schedules for their respective ‘Meet the Players’ nights, which will take place on Friday.
Both Mt. Pleasant and Fairfield will be introducing players and showing off some fall sports skills.
Mt. Pleasant’s ‘Meet the Players’ activities will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a meal served by the booster club. Introductions of cheerleaders, players, managers and coaches will take place at 7:15 p.m.
At 7:30 p.m., the introduction to the junior varsity and varsity cheerleaders will take place, followed by a scrimmage between the freshman and sophomore teams. At p.m., the varsity offense will have a practice run-through, and at 8:20 p.m., the kicking game will do the same.
All activities for Mt. Pleasant will take place at Mapleleaf Athletic Complex.
Fairfield’s ‘Meet the Trojans’ night will take place at the high school. The evening begins at 5 p.m., with a fall sports parents meeting in the gym.
Team introductions in Fairfield are scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m., on the track. Hy Vee will be serving dinners at the stadium during the evening, with proceeds being donated to Trojan Athletic Boosters.
The volleyball team will have an intrasquad scrimmage in the gym. The football team will welcome in Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont for a scrimmage, beginning around 7 p.m.
Also during the event in Fairfield, youth football registrations will bet taking place and Fairfield Community School District passes will be sold.
Washington will not be hosting a ‘Meet the Players’ night on Friday. Instead, the Demons will travel to Muscatine for a road football scrimmage.
