MT. PLEASANT — The Mt. Pleasant football season came to an end Friday in a loss to defending state champion and top-ranked North Scott.
The Lancers jumped on the Panthers early and never looked back in a 55-0 victory.
North Scott’s 35-0 first quarter lead took the wind out of the Mt. Pleasant sails early.
It was the Panthers’ fifth-straight season to end with a loss. Mt. Pleasant’s offense scored just 17 points over the last five contests.
Mt. Pleasant ended its 2021 season at 1-8 overall and 0-5 in district play. The lone win was a 24-21 defeat of West Burlington-Notre Dame.
Mt. Pleasant’s Isaiah Albright returns a kick for the Panthers on October 15. On Friday night, Albright and the Panthers were shut out by No. 1 North Scott. (Andy Krutsinger/The Union)
