MT. PLEASANT - The Mt. Pleasant girls basketball team hosted its end-of-year awards night last week, and that gave Panther head coach Curt Watson the chance to recognize players for their work this season. The Panther basketball team handed out awards to seven different players.
The Most Valuable Player Award was given to sophomore Andrea Lopreato. Another sophomore, Tristian Shull, received the team's Offensive MVP award.
Karsyn Lamm, a senior, was named the Defensive MVP. Younger sister Kenna Lamm, a junior, took home the Most Improved Player Award.
Senior Emma Huckabone was given the team's Coaches Award. Two players were given the Panther Award, senior Emma Rugg and junior Ava Lowery.
The Panther girls went 11-10 this season and 6-4 in conference play. Mt. Pleasant saw its season come to an end in a regional tournament first round game at Keokuk.
