PELLA — The schedule didn’t do Mt. Pleasant any favors on Tuesday night, as the Panthers had to travel to play a tough Pella team in the season opener.
The Lady Dutch controlled the game from the start, putting up 31 points in the opening quarter and cruising to a 72-19 victory.
The Panthers had a tough time keeping the hot-shooting Lady Dutch quiet. Pella went 12-for-29 from 3-point land on the night.
Mt. Pleasant trailed 31-6 after one quarter and 48-10 at halftime.
The Panthers were led offensively by Alexa Fuller, who scored six points, five of which came in the second half. Kynlee White added six points.
Juliana Burns scored three points for Mt. Pleasant. Myah Starr put up two points, and Paityn Ensminger scored one.
Mt. Pleasant is now 0-1 to start the year. The Panthers will play at Ottumwa on Monday.
