Mt. Pleasant girls hold end-of-year banquet

The Mt. Pleasant girls' basketball team held its end-of-year banquet on Sunday night at the Mt. Pleasant High School commons area. Players, parents and coaches gathered for food, to recap the season and to hand out awards to players from the 2018-19 season.

The two Mt. Pleasant seniors, Maddie Williamson and Sadie Carrasco, were given the overall MVP and Offensive MVP awards respectively. Emma Huckabone and Karsyn Lamm, who were often subbed in for defensive purposes down the stretch of close games, both took home a Co-defensive MVP award. Emma Rugg was given the Panther award, and Alyssa Striegel received the coaches award.

Mt. Pleasant went 6-15 overall this year, but had an almost .500 stretch at the end of the year. The Panthers went 6-7 in their final 13 games, and finished third in the Southeast Conference with a 4-4 record.
