FAIRFIELD — Mt. Pleasant and Fairfield girls soccer squared off on Friday night in the two’s first Southeast Conference matchup of the season.
By the time the final whistle sounded, the Panthers had put up an offensive onslaught taking the match 10-0.
The Panthers (1-1) controlled the majority of the possession and it turned into chance after chance at goal.
It was a unstoppable night for the Panther’s Charice Auwerda, as the junior dropped in a whopping six goals, along with one assist in the win. Auwerda was one of three to score two or more goals on the night.
Mt. Pleasant’s first goal of the game came just under six minutes into the match as Haley Parrott dribbled her way from the Panthers side of the field and slipped it into the back of the net. That was the first of two goals for Parrott on the night.
The Panthers only added to their total from then on out. Nine minutes later, Tori Wilson scored what was the first of her two goals. She also led the Panthers with three assists.
Mt. Pleasant added one final goal before the end of the half to push the lead to 3-0 and Fairfield (0-1) couldn’t recover as the Panthers only got better.
In the second, the Panthers buried seven shots into the Trojans net.
In all, Fairfield took just four shots in the conference matchup, three of which were on goal.
