MT. PLEASANT — The Mt. Pleasant girls tennis team picked up its fifth win of the year on Monday, toppling Notre Dame-West Burlington 6-3.
Mt. Pleasant had four singles wins on the day, including a dominant win at No. 1. Jana Isanta Vila dominated the top singles match, winning 8-0.
Ellie Situmeang took the No. 2 singles match 8-3. Bethany Drury won the No. 4 match 8-6, and Audrey Richmond won the No. 6 matchup 8-3.
Falling in singles play was Mary Kate Peterson, who dropped the No. 3 match 8-6, and Victoria Smith, who fell 8-5 at No. 5.
Mt. Pleasant won two doubles matches. Isanta Vila and Situmeang won 8-3 in the No. 1 match, and Drury and Richmond took the No. 3 match 8-0.
Peterson and Smith were downed in the No. 2 doubles match, falling 8-2.
